Something Wrong with your Cooker?
Before contacting your nearest Service Centre/Installer, check the problem guide below; there may be nothing wrong
with your cooker.
Problem Check
Ignition does not work
If all burners fail to ignite:
Chec k that spar ks appear at the burners;
A cli ck i ng noise should be hear d.
If not
Chec k that the plug i s plugged in to a
13am p El ectric socket and the s upply
is switched on.
If all burners still fail to ignite
Top Cavity Grill Burner
Chec k and repl ace if necessary the 13amp fuse
If only one burner fails to ignite
Check that the burner is dry and that spillage of food or
cleaning fluid remains are not affecting the Ignitor or burner
ports .
Burner Ports Ignitor
Cl ean away any debris with a dr y nylon brush such as an
Hotplate Burner
old dry toothbrush.
Hob Top
If a wire wool pad has been used for c l eani ng around the
burner ensure the Ignitor is free from any s tray strands.
Any water on the burner should be dri ed wi th a cloth or
kitchen towel.
On the hotplate make s ure that all bur ner
parts are correctly seated
Burner Ports Ignitor
Oven or Grill will not stay lit
For correct ignition of oven/grill burners press the ignition button
when the control knob is released
and then push i n and tur n c ontrol knobs anti-clockwi se.
Control Panel Control Knobs
Continue to press the i gnition button unti l the spark l i ghts the gas .
Once alight r el ease the i gniti on button and conti nue to hol d the
control knob i n for a further 6 to 10 seconds .
Then rel ease the control knob and set to the required temperature.
The flame shoul d now stay al i ght.
If the flame does not hold and goes out wait 30 seconds and try
agai n
Oven Control Grill Control
Oven Temperature seems t oo
Chec k that the temperature has been set in accordanc e with
high or too low
the temperature char ts. It may be nec essar y to i ncrease or
decrease the recommended temperature by 10 C to suit your
taste
Oven does not cook evenly.
Chec k the temperature and shel f posi tion are as rec ommended
in the temperature charts
Chec k that the Utens i l being used i n the ov en all ow sufficient
ai r fl ow around them.
Check that the cooker is level.
Hotplates are slow to boil or will
Chec k that your pans conform to the r ecommendations i n
not simmer
thes e i nstruc tions.
Odour or smoke when using your new cooker
This is normal and s hould cease after a short peri od.
Condensation / Steam in the Oven After Use
Condensati on and steam i s a by pr oduct of cooking food
with a water content.
To help mini mi se alway s:
A) Try to avoid leaving food in the oven to cool after being cooked
B) Use a c ov ed Utensil wher ever pos si bl e
Condensation on the Wall at the Rear of the Cooker
Steam and/or condensation m ay appear from the v ent at the rear of
the appliance when using an oven, particularly when cooking foods
wi th a high water content ( Such as Ov en Chips or Chi cken) .
This is normal and any ex ces s shoul d be wiped off
